The events system is the single largest custom piece of the redesign, so budget real time for it. But it is not risky or experimental. Everything here is a standard Shopify pattern: a metaobject to hold the data, a custom section and page template to display it, and a bit of self-contained JavaScript for filtering and the calendar buttons. No third-party events app is required (though one is a valid alternative). Events are managed through an easy, form-based back end built into Shopify: a developer builds it once, then staff add and edit events themselves with no code.
